Below the pastures of the ridge, the slopes of the mountains are covered with a beech which, at higher altitudes is almost pure.
Oltrepò the winter has been rather long, the branches are still bare, while the ground is covered with the leaves falling early in the season
but already some clear green tufts sprouting from the
leaves or catkins of hazel are small, almost imperceptible signs of the imminent awakening.
In fact still below the 1000 meters tall primroses are enjoying the sun,
daphne Laureola putting together the first leaves,
still a few meager Pulmonary &
all'anemone impairment.
But everything stops abruptly about 1100 meters from here the snow persists
